When Muhammad approached the Jews, he expected recognition. 

He thought they would welcome him as a prophet in their tradition. Instead, they rejected him and called him a fraud. The Christians did the same.

That rejection was a personal blow, and Islam, as we know it today, was built as a response to that rejection.

Muhammad didn’t walk away, he retaliated. He wrote that vengeance into the Qur’an. The early tolerance disappeared. What followed was a doctrine shaped by bitterness. 

The rejection he faced was repackaged as divine wrath, and his personal humiliation became a system of permanent hostility.

This is why the Qur’an’s later verses are filled with contempt toward Jews and Christians. They weren’t just theological opponents, they were the ones who wounded Muhammad’s pride.

This is also why Islamic movements don’t focus on converting or dominating forgotten corners of the world. 

There’s nothing to prove in poor, weak nations. There’s no historic slight to avenge.
